Why ‘Maharaja’ Cruise?

The 18^th century marked the onset of an imperial dynasty in the history of ancient India, formally known as the Mughal Empire.  The ‘Maharajas’ were rulers or kings of their states and provinces, who controlled every aspect of the state including customs, trade and economics while living in luxurious palaces and fortresses.  A ‘Maharaja’ style vacation included fine dining and exotic tours of lands inaccessible to the local citizens.
